Eric's Hair Studio

Challenge

Eric's is a small Hair Studio based in Camden Town. Guys working over there have life experience with creating beautiful, stylish and alternative hair cuts.

When part of Camden Lock had been shut down in favour of creating apartments, Hair Masters had to relocate. Camden High street (a perfect location), didn't play crucial role any longer, as guys already had a good reputation and loyal customers. They used this situation as an opportunity.

A new place has been found just 2 min walks from Camden Road station, with new, even better conditions and challenges. Camden has a well known reputation, and Eric's style and atmosphere fit into it as glove to a hand.

Getting Started

After spending long hours in the studio, I've learned a lot about my clients and their customers. Really friendly atmosphere and long conversations proved their passion and engagement to their work. I wanted to tell their story as it is - Real.

From the beginning, we knew that the shop sign will be one of the most important things to do. Sign needed a simple and easy to understand message. Message which will attract attention and tell immediately what is this place. Hands holding comb and razors like in Michelangelo chapel, where a natural move to achieve this.

This logo represents their passion and love for their work, and also bringing up their roots.

Photos

which are seen on the home page, (and probably later in the studio and flyers) are to show customers real people in action. The idea was not to present another fake website presenting images taken from stock, but an opportunity to present their work and bring up the emphatic emotions in viewers.

Next steps

After creating sign, and website natural step was to create stationery. Idea happening at the moment is to create some print adverstiment, along side with google ads, and later I want to get more engaged in studio's interior.

The studio is doing well, and has just recently hired a new hairdresser, but the big picture is not to stop at this stage.

Site

When hanging around in the saloon, I took a lot of pictures, after playing with them I wanted to incorporate them in web design. Carrying on with the idea of presenting "how it is" approach, I managed to create four easy to understand sub-pages and a homepage.
